Since and are at right angles we can use the Pythagorean theorem.

The angle q which is with respect to axis is found by:

Note that negative y and positive x implies 4^th quadrant so – 60.3 makes sense.

Magnitude =	8.06
Direction (q) =	-60.3° or 299.7°
