65.  Two identical diverging lenses are separated by 16 cm. The focal length of each lens is - 8.0 cm. An object is located 4.0 cm to the left of the lens that is on the left. Determine the final image distance relative to the lens on the right.

 

 

So with multiple lenses, you find the image of the first lens and make that the object for the second lens and then you can find the final image.  So first find the image of the left lens.

 

 

The object distance for the second lens is found from

 

 

Now find the second image using this object distance

 

 

 

 

The minus sign means the image is 5.6 cm to the left of the lens on the right!
