DP 8-2 Design the circuit in Figure DP 8.2 so that i(t) makes the transition from i(t) = 1 mA to i(t) = 4 mA in 10 ms after the switch is closed. Assume that the circuit is at steady state before the switch is closed. Also, assume that the transition will be complete after 5 time constants.

Before t = 0, the circuit looks like

The inductor in steady state would act like a short circuit and the current can be gotten by calculating current for a simple series circuit.

Again long term current gotten from simple series circuit

Using 5 time constants is 10 ms, then one time constant is 2 ms and The time constant gives us
